A Project Like No Other
Designed by world renowned architect Moshie Safdie, the Jewel complex is a distinctive dome-shaped façade made of glass & steel, based on the geometry of a torus., with the Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall at its heart.
Complex Smoke and Heat Ventilation Design
The unique design of Jewel meant that smoke and heat ventilation were key considerations and working alongside the project team and local partners, we designed and installed 105 Kingspan Lumera SHEV windows, in both rectangular and triangular shapes.
Central to the design is the abundance of lush vegetation, indoor gardens and water features which offers a variety of experiences for visitors in addition to helping to cool the building interior, improve air quality and also collect and harness the significant rainwater.
The complex which connects the different terminals at Changi airport as its primary function embraces a new model for airports as discrete destinations for shopping, entertainment, and social activity to create a public gathering space for Singaporeans and international travelers alike.
